Went for Sunday lunch, what a great meal. Meat cooked to perfection, seasonal veg a plenty, and my favourite, cauliflower cheese. Lovely pub, lovely food, and great hosts.we will definitely be returning. Food & drinks: Top notch food and drinks.

What a pub! We stumbled upon this absolute gem. They couldn’t have been more helpful, the food was fantastic and the service was great too. We had three courses and plenty of alcohol whilst camping nearby. The locals were very pleasant and the pub was warm and comfortable. Will be back for sure

Called in for a bite to eat during a snowy walk round the area. Lovely welcome and a nice pint of Madri. Hubby was pleased too because they had Guinness 0%. We had the steak pie and scampi and chips. Both were excellent and can probably say the best scampi I've had. If we are in the area again - Yes we will call in again, recommend it.

just spent two nights at this wonderful "community pub". I hope the community appreciate how lucky they are to have such a splendid pub as their local. We were made to feel exceptionally welcome by both the current owners ,(who have carried out several improvements) and their staff. Breakfast and evening meal were both first rate and better than many 5 star places I have stayed at. A comment that also applies to the great choice of coffee, tea etc in the room. Good food ,good beer, good service. an easy 5 out of 5. Good luck to the owners , they deserve it

This pub has been here for hundreds of years and will be for hundreds more. Current landlords are very friendly and accommodating. They serve fantastic ales and spirits of all kinds local and far with super cosey by the fire seating or if you fancy sitting outside on the rare occasion there is a bit of sun. Food is great quality and is just what you'd be looking for in a great British pub.

Very Average. Lovely location and old pub but really disappointing customers service from abrupt rude landlord. Rushed to the table, impatient order taking for food, not one smile or bit of warmth throughout. Lovely young girl serving food though, she was great. Food pretty average. Very average experience overall, won’t rush to return or recommend, will look elsewhere.

Absolutely gorgeous Yorkshire Dales pub. Full of character. Easy parking. The food is home cooked and delicious. Really good value as well. Great local beers on tap. I’ve eaten here multiple times and will continue to do so. One of my favourite pubs!

Had dinner last night and 3 of us had steak pie - WOW, the suet crust with herbs was a lovely twist and the steak tender and gravy yummy 😋, one had chicken skewers which looked delicious too. Unplanned - but because of the good company, good food, good drinks and great atmosphere ended up staying overnight with friends in the village - so didn’t have any food for our dog but the kind landlord gave us some food for her 🙌 Thanks very much 🐶😃
